Crockpot Chili

Pinterest has made dinner time at our how interesting to say the least.
Does anybody else get the big sigh from their husband when you tell them you're trying a new recipe for dinner? Haha yeah my husband dreads those dinners.
This chili recipe however we both really like!
It's a very hearty, yummy meal to have on cold winter days. I prefer to serve it on top of a baked potato with cheese and sour cream. I also make corn bread muffins to go with. Not only is this meal delicious, it's also very easy and affordable!
I did make a few changes.
1. I only used 1 lb. of beef rather than 2 lbs.
2.  I don't add coriander
3. I use different types of beans, sometimes I use the light/dark kidney beans like the recipe calls for and sometimes I use chili beans.
4. Dont be afraid to add more spices! I always add the recommended amount and let it simmer for a little while then try it, I usually end up adding a bit more spices.

My favorite part of this dinner, its done in the crockpot! Very few dishes and easy clean up!

**Tonight I served the chili with tortilla chips! AMAZING!

Let me know what you think! Did you do anything different to this recipe?

Dolly Diaper Bag Tutorial

Ok guys this one was really fun and really different from anything I've ever done!
My daughter is in love with her baby doll and wants everything mommy has (that's why she's getting a toy Dyson for Christmas LOL)
but I also wanted to get her a dolly diaper bag
I looked and looked for a cute one, I couldn't find what I was looking for.
So I jumped on Pinterest and sure enough there's a pin for that! This was a great tutorial and I would highly recommend it!
I wouldn't say I'm an expert seamstress but I have done some very simple sewing in the past. Usually my mother in law helps me does 99% of it for me, but I wanted to test my skills and do it alone.
It went great! My bag isn't perfect, but I'd say it's pretty dang good and totally adorable! I followed her tutorial step by step, the only thing I would highly recommend is to use I heavy duty durable fabric rather than just typical cotton.
I went with this home decor fabric and it worked perfect! It's a little more expensive but wait for it to go on sale and use a coupon.
This project only cost me $13 and I had material left over! That's cheaper than I could have bought one of those not so cute diaper bags for!

Here it is!

I'm so excited to give it to her on Christmas!

Tell me what you think!
I love to hear your comments!

Welcome

I'm not what you would call a "professional" blogger.
I'm simply a stay at home mom who cooks with normal ingredients,
cleans with lots of homemade cleaners, and DIY's the best she can.
I love Pinterest, so many great ideas, and always a new recipe to throw on the table.
After an overwhelming response to my "recipes I HAVE tried" board I've decided to take it to the next level and blog about it.
I will share all the pins I try with you, from crafts, to recipes, to everything in-between.
I'm here to tell you exactly what I think, no sugar coating
There are so many good pins out there, but oh there are so many bad lol.
I can't wait to share with you and hear your comments and opinions as well.
Together we can perfect the pins!
